Americans for Prosperity and Americans for Prosperity Foundation

Koch companies and Koch foundations support a number of organizations that work to advance free-market principles. Among the hundreds of organizations that have received support from Koch companies and/or the Koch foundations are Americans for Prosperity and Americans for Prosperity Foundation.*

Americans for Prosperity, formed in 2004, is a citizen advocacy organization. Americans for Prosperity Foundation, established in 1983, educates citizens about market-based solutions to societal challenges. Americans for Prosperity Foundation is chaired by David H. Koch, an executive vice president of Koch Industries, Inc. Together, these organizations have more than 1.2 million members in all 50 states, 30 state chapters and affiliates, and 65,000-plus donors.

AFP and AFP Foundation have worked for many years to support ideals we believe are critical to our nation’s future and the well-being of society. These include limited government as set forth by the Constitution, fiscal responsibility, removing unnecessary barriers to entrepreneurship, and restoring fairness to our judicial system. Their overall mission of promoting sound economic thinking is one in which Koch companies and Koch foundations firmly believe.

*AFP and AFP Foundation are legally separate organizations with two separate governing boards. AFP Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3) organization, focuses on citizen education about economic policy and a return of the federal government to its Constitutional limits. AFP, a 501(c)(4) entity, focuses on citizen advocacy. Koch foundations provide no funding to AFP.
